The SledBug is hooked to your snowmobiles 12 volt DC
electrical system and charges a rechargeable battery contained within the SledBug. The
SledBug battery charges up when your sled is running and then upon either a normal
shutdown, or shut down due to burial, the SledBug unit automatically switches to transmit.
The unit continues to transmit until such time as the internal battery completely
discharges, or until the sled is started up again. The transmit range of about 50 meters;
the size is 75 mm x 65 mm x 20 mm and each SledBug weighs 100 grams. $89.95ea |

The SnowBug uses the same AA alkaline batteries as
your SOS-SB transceiver and hence must be manually turned on and off. It is designed to be
attached to non-electrical items such as snowboards or pack backs. One of our prototype
units has even been attached to the collar of one of our product testers favorite
deep snow hounds. |
Remember, the Bugs are transmitters only, not combined receivers and transmitters. This means that they can only transmit, and the signal that they do transmit is on the special SB frequency. In part, this is why Bugs are NOT to be worn by humans!
